Portugal: Lifestyle and luxury hotel portfolio Vignette Collection, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, has announced the opening of Casa da Companhia in the centre of Porto, Portugal.
Casa da Companhia marks the first European hotel to join Vignette Collection since the soft brand launched in 2021. The hotel is housed in the former headquarters of Port producer Real Companhia Velha, and guests can experience ‘fire opening’ a bottle of Port every Wednesday and Saturday early evening.
Amenities include 40 rooms with three suites, a spa offering treatments from Holiclinica, a fitness suite, heated indoor and outdoor pools, and an outdoor terrace. The hotel’s restaurant and bar is located on Flower Street and serves a Mediterranean menu with influences from India.

The hotel has partnered with Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo do Porto to support careers in hospitality through mentoring and internships at the hotel.
Casa da Companhia is the fifth hotel to open under Vignette Collection. It joins Yours Truly DC in the US, Hotel X Brisbane Fortitude Valley in Australia, and Sindhorn Midtown Hotel Bangkok in Thailand.
The brand has 12 hotels in the pipeline and more than 100 properties are expected to join over the next 10 years. Future openings include El Gran Encomendero in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, The Gwendolyn in Oregon’s wine country, Carlton Al Moaibed Hotel in Saudi Arabia, House of Chinhara in Zimbabwe, and RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka in Japan.
