Vaasu is part of the growing Atul Kochhar empire, offering Indian fine dining in the attractive setting of Marlow in Berkshire. The cooking is quite ambitious here and presentation of dishes is attractive. We had some good dishes and other than a curious disdain for ingredient seasonality, the only quibble is the price tag.
Medlar in Chelsea has been around over a decade now, producing well-made classical dishes, such as apple tarte tatin (pictured), all at a very fair price. Combine the capable cooking, good wine list, moderate pricing and charming staff and it is easy to see why this is perennial local favourite.
