One person is shot dead and two are injured after gunman opened fire in hotel room at the Mirage in Las Vegas as the Strip is plunged into lockdown

• Las Vegas Metro police say one person has been killed following a shooting
• It happened at the Mirage on the Las Vegas Strip and involves several victims
• Two other people were injured in the shooting in a hotel room on the eighth floor 
• Resort went into lockdown as dozens of police officers marched through the gaming floor as hotel guests either stood around or continued playing the slots
