Nigerian senator Ike Ekweremadu and wife charged traffikingc a child to UK for organ harvesting 

High-ranking Nigerian politician Ike Ekweremadu, 60, and his academic wife, 55, are charged with plotting to bring a child from Nigeria to the UK for organ harvesting

• Nwanneka Ekweremadu, 55, and Ike Ekweremadu, 60, are both from Nigeria
• Mr Ekweremadu is a People’s Democratic Party politician who was once Deputy President of the nation’s senate 
• His wife is an academic and doctor in Abuja. Couple were visiting the UK in June 
• They will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday afternoon
• Child alleged to have been trafficked for organs is now safe with the police
