Boris Johnson and Prince Charles are set for awkward talks in Rwanda on Friday morning – as the pair meet for the first time since the heir-to-the-throne blasted the Government’s new migration policy.
The Prime Minister and Charles will have a ‘catch-up’ in capital Kigali as they both attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
The discussions could be strained after it was recently revealed the royal had criticised ministers efforts to send migrants from Britain to the African nation to have their asylum claims processed.
Despite a backlash, Mr Johnson is pushing ahead with the £120m scheme to send those who arrive in the UK illegally on a one-way ticket to a country more than 4,000 miles away.
