Parents of four-month-old baby, 39 and 27, are shot dead in Connecticut

The parents of a four-month-old baby boy were fatally shot and a woman was critically injured after a dispute over a dog escalated into violence in Hartford, Connecticut on Father’s Day. 

New parents Chase Garrett, 39, Christina Dang, 27, and an unidentified woman in her 20s were shot during a confrontation at 67 Franklin Avenue, authorities said. 

Hartford Police responded to reports of shots being fired just after 9 p.m. on Sunday. 

Garrett and Dang were pronounced dead at the scene, while the third victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition. 

At a press conference Monday, police chief Jason Thody said the shooting happened after a minor neighbor dispute over a dog quickly escalated.
