A Japanese manufacturer of ‘glamorous’ lacy boxer shorts which are designed for men was surprised to sell out of its stock.
Underwear company Wacoal which sells the briefs for ¥3,960 (£24) said the garment is ‘designed to comfortably wrap around the male part’.
It was worked on by the company’s underwear scientists for six months before they shared the news of the new lacy boxers.
Wacoal was at first unsure about the idea so it crowdfunded for an initial target of ¥300,000-worth of orders (£1,800).
But ended up hitting, 1,000% more than that, at ¥3.2 million-worth of orders (£19,000).
The sales craze then reached fever pitch yet again at Japanese department store Isetan in Tokyo.
