At the age of 44, Australian mum Sarah Leavasa started experiencing what she thought were early signs of menopause.
The mum-of-two, from Victoria, called her mother for advice after experiencing hot and cold flushes, bloating and terribly insomnia.
Sarah told Daily Mail Australia her mum encouraged her to visit a GP ‘just in case’ anything was wrong.
‘I’m someone who doesn’t like going to the doctor and thought I might just have the flu, so I waited but the symptoms didn’t go away,’ she said.
Sarah, now 47, delayed seeing the doctor for eight weeks who then confirmed she was pregnant through a blood test and urine sample – leaving her completely shocked.
