Coleen Rooney says her Wagatha Christie ‘sting operation’ was ‘last resort’ to stop press leaks

Coleen Rooney said she launched her so-called ‘sting operation’ to identify the ‘snake’ leaking her Instagram stories as a ‘last resort’ – as she took the stand for the first time during the Wagatha Christie libel trial.

The WAG also claimed she offered her bitter rival Rebekah Vardy ‘three oliver branches’ to end their £3million legal war but her efforts were ‘in vain’. 

In a now famous post from October 2019, Coleen, 36, accused Rebekah, 40, of leaking ‘false stories’ about her private life to the press. 

Rebekah denies leaking stories to the media and is suing her fellow footballer’s wife for libel, while Coleen is defending the claim on the basis her post was ‘substantially true’ and in the public interest.
