Ex-barrister’s told awards do ‘sleeping with a woman from Paisley would make a man’s d**k itch’

The ex-barrister dropped as a speaker after alleged ‘sexist, racist and homophobic’ jokes at an awards do said it ‘smelled of Fake Bake’ and declared women from Paisley gave men STDs, it was claimed today.

Bill Copeland – a former criminal lawyer – is accused of making ‘sickening’ remarks about women, homosexuality and Japanese footballers at the Scottish Football Writers’ Association (SFWA) awards in Glasgow on Sunday night.

Guests present at the ceremony – which honoured Sir Alex Ferguson – claimed the lawyer had used the word ‘p**f’ while joking about his own father being homophobic.

They also said he used the word ‘N*p’, allegedly in connection with Celtic signing three Japanese players in January.
