A possible motive for the slaying of crime kingpin ‘Mr Big’ has come to light as underworld sources reveal he was extorting other gangsters from his prison cell.
Mahmoud ‘Brownie’ Ahmad, 39, was gunned down while visiting an associate in a suburban street in Greenacre at 9.30pm on Wednesday night, after a $1million bounty was placed on his head.
He only walked free from jail six months ago after serving a five-year sentence for killing a gangland rival.
The development comes as police undergo a major crackdown on criminal groups in the wake of the brazen shooting, with Comanchero enforcer Tarek Zahed slapped with handcuffs on Friday.
