West Coast Eagles AFL star Jack Darling teammates turn on him over Covid vaccine refusal

Teammates are turning on AFL star Jack Darling for his refusal to get vaccinated against Covid just three weeks before the season begins.

The West Coast Eagles forward is banned from training with the club or playing in any matches until he is vaccinated, under the AFL’s mandate.

Darling, 29, missed last month’s deadline to get his first vaccine dose and would not be able to get his second in time for Round 1 on March 20. 

A club board meeting will be held on Wednesday to decide the premiership forward’s fate after he failed to get a medical exemption.  

Fellow Eagles star Dom Sheed conceded it was hard to support Darling’s stance when he addressed the vaccination saga at training on Tuesday.
