• The gravely wounded unidentified Taylor County deputy was air-lifted with life-threatening injuries, according to a Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson 
• Miedema was convicted in 2011 while serving in the U.S. Army on one count of sex with a minor and one count of possession of child pornography
