Republican and Democratic campaign committees are spending an average 700% MORE on security than in the last election cycle: Ted Cruz, AOC, Liz Cheney and Mark Kelly top lawmakers’ $3 MILLION protection bill over increased threats

• Both Democrats and Republicans increased spending on security last year by nearly 700%  – on both personal protection and cybersecurity methods
• Lawmakers – via their campaign committees – spent nearly $3 million in 2021
• For the entire 2019-2020 cycle, lawmakers spent a mere $385,000
• Bill expected to go up as campaigning begins in earnest for November election
• Lawmakers with high security costs include: Senators Mark Kelly, Ted Cruz and Raphael Warnock; and Reps. Liz Cheney and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
