Arthur makes history as the longest-running kids animated series after 25 seasons

Arthur aired its final episode, titled All Grown Up, after a 25-season run on PBS, which gave viewers a look at the eight-year-old aardvark’s future.

The finale was set in 2042 and chronicled the lives and careers of Arthur and his fellow animated pals Francine, Buster, Brain, Muffy and Sue Ellen.  

In the 20-year flash forward, it is revealed Arthur became a graphic  novelist, who has just published his first book. 

He gave his friends a first look at his debut novel, about getting his first pair of glasses, which was the plot of the first Arthur episode back in 1996.
