On the same day Victoria has recorded five new cases of coronavirus including two ‘unlinked’ mystery infections from the same household.

Saturday’s new cases mean the outbreak in the state has jumped to 69 local infections.

There was also one case recorded in hotel quarantine meaning Victoria is juggling 78 active infections overall as health officials race to find the source of the new Indian ‘Delta’ variant.

Three of the five new cases are close contacts of existing cases.
