Borussia Dortmund call super-agent Mino Raiola to tell him Erling Haaland is NOT for sale

Borussia Dortmund call super-agent Mino Raiola to tell him Erling Haaland is NOT for sale this summer after seeing him jet off ‘to meet English clubs today’ having already held talks with Barcelona and Real Madrid

  • Borussia Dortmund have reminded Mino Raiola that Erling Haaland is not for sale
  • Raiola and Alf-Inge Haaland are currently in talks with a host of European clubs
  • The pair were in Spain on Thursday and will reportedly fly to England on Friday
  • Dortmund put a £154m price tag on Haaland because they don’t want to lose him

Borussia Dortmund have reminded Erling Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola that the star striker is not for sale this summer – but their position could change if they miss out on Champions League qualification.

Raiola has started to drum up interest in the Norwegian sensation after flying to Barcelona and Madrid on Thursday for talks with Spain’s two biggest clubs over a possible summer transfer.

It is also believed Raiola and his father, Alf-Inge, will fly to England on Friday to open talks with English giants Chelsea, both Manchester clubs and Liverpool as their whistle-stop negotiation tour continues.

Haaland has a release clause in his contract that does not kick in until next summer but his Dortmund performances have been so impressive that a number of Europe’s leading clubs are keen to do business now.

Dortmund have placed a £154million price tag on the 20-year-old, who only arrived from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020, but sporting director Michael Zorc insists they have reminded Raiola they do not wish to sell this summer.

Speaking to Sky Germany on Thursday, Zorc said: ‘I spoke to Raiola yesterday (Wednesday). We made our intention clear.

‘We plan for the long term with Erling. [Rumours] do not have to be dealt with at all.

‘I can see him with us for a long time.’

However, German outlet Kicker have claimed that Dortmund would consider doing business at £154m if they miss out on Champions League football next season.

After meeting with Barcelona, the pair then reportedly held talks with rivals Real Madrid

They are currently four points off fourth-placed Frankfurt, who they welcome to Signal Iduna Park in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Raiola and Alf-Inge had a two-hour meeting with Barcelona president Joan Laporta and the club’s director of football Mateu Alemany on Thursday morning.

Newly-elected Barca president Laporta has a good relationship with Raiola following the deal the two men did in 2009 to take Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the Nou Camp.

Haaland’s entourage then touched down in Madrid, where reports in Spain claimed he met Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Raiola and Alf-Inge’s negotiating tour will continue on Friday, with the pair travelling to London to hold talks with four Premier League sides.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have all held long-standing interests in the Norwegian hotshot, but the report adds that Premier League champions Liverpool will also meet Raiola and Haaland Snr.

Manchester rivals City and United are both keen admirers of the 20-year-old sensation

City are understood to be the frontrunners to land the Norwegian talent this summer transfer window, with Alf-Inge formerly playing for the club during a three-year stint.

Raiola has endured a fractious relationship with City boss Pep Guardiola, but insisted that the pair’s relationship would not obstruct a move.

United have long admired Haaland and were linked with the Dortmund star before his move to Germany. Previous negotiations between United and Haaland’s representatives collapsed after the Premier League giants refused to meet their demands.

Haaland, alongside Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe, is the hottest property in world football at present.

The 20-year-old has made a sensational impact since arriving from RB Salzburg in January 2020, scoring 49 goals in 49 appearances for the Bundesliga side.
