Online car retailer Cazoo unveiled as new sponsor of £1.1m Derby at Epsom as part of multi-year partnership with Jockey Club Racecourses

  • The ‘multi-year’ deal covers branding rights on JCR’s 15 racecourses
  • The Cazoo deal will see the Derby at Epsom run for £1.125m on June 5
  • Investec ended their sponsorship of the Classic Flat race six years early last July

Jockey Club Racecourses have been boosted by securing Cazoo as the new sponsors of the Derby at Epsom on June 5.

The online car retailer replaces Investec, who ended their deal to back the most important Classic of the Flat season six years early last July.

The Cazoo deal will see the Derby run for £1.125million, much more than the £500,000 value of the behind closed-doors 2020 Derby but £500,000 less than the 2019 race.

The ‘multi-year’ deal covers branding rights on JCR’s 15 racecourses.

Meanwhile, jockey Aidan MacDonald is in critical condition after falling two weeks ago. He is being treated for a carotid artery dissection.
