Huddersfield boss Carlos Corberan reveals he is ‘considering’ free agent Ravel Morrison… with former Man United starlet looking for his TWELFTH club after release by ADO Den Haag

  • The 28-year-old is being considered by Championship side Huddersfield Town
  • Morrison said on Rio Ferdinand’s podcast that he has held talks with a club

Ravel Morrison is ‘one option’ being considered by Huddersfield Town as manager Carlos Corberan looks to bolster his side with free agents.

Morrison, 28, is searching for the twelfth club of his professional career after he cancelled his 12-month contract with ADO Den Haag in Holland after just four months back in January.

Huddersfield are five points clear of the relegation zone in the second tier and Corberan has revealed that Morrison is one of a couple options behind debated behind the scenes.

‘Right now I know he is one option we are allowed to consider,’ Corberan told BBC West Yorkshire

‘With the new Brexit rules everything changed because you don’t have the same option of player.

‘We are analysing if these players can help the team and improve the squad.’

Corberan refused to detail if Morrison was currently training with his squad but said it was his understanding that Huddersfield have ‘two possibilities’ with free agents.

If Huddersfield do look to firm up their interest they would not face competition from Morrison’s former team-mate Wayne Rooney, now boss at Derby County.

Speaking on Wednesday, Rooney said: ‘Obviously I know Ravel because I played with him, but I am happy with the squad I’ve got, it’s a good squad of players.

‘I hope Ravel can find a club which he deserves, because he’s a fantastic player, and I wish him all the best.’

Morrison was dubbed as a superstar at Manchester United when he emerged from their academy with Sir Alex Ferguson boldly claiming he was ‘the best kid you will ever see’.

But he lost his way and since leaving United, Morrison has played for 11 different teams in the nine years since departing Old Trafford.

Prior to the move to Holland, Morrison was on the books at Middlesbrough in the Championship where he made three appearances.
