Kamaru Usman revealed he is doing ‘big boy business’ with UFC president Dana White just as Jorge Masvidal called out the welterweight champion over a rematch.

Usman won his 13th successive UFC bout on Sunday against Gilbert Burns with a devastating set of punches in the third round, despite being knocked down by his opponent in the first round.

After the fight, the 33-year-old himself called out former opponent Masvidal, who he beat last July’s UFC 251 but he was not happy with his performance despite the victory.

And the Nigerian-born Texan tweeted a photo of him and White on Monday, hinting that work was being done to arrange a Masvidal rematch.

Usman had tweeted earlier on Sunday that he was feeling ‘generous’, which provoked a response from Masvidal, who claimed he was planning on taking the welterweight title.

The American MMA star tweeted himself: ‘You feeling generous and I’m feeling gooned out. I’m taking everything. What’s yours is mine #supernecessary’

In his post-fight interview after the Burns victory, Usman claimed that a rematch with Masvidal has been on the cards for a while but his American rival kept backing out of the challenge.

Usman said: ‘We got this little street thug calling himself Jesus. He’s thinking he is Jesus. And you know, we tried to make that fight several times.

‘They tried to make that fight. But he kept backing out. The only reason this man took the (previous) fight is because it was on six days notice and he had a built in excuse.

‘And he is still running his mouth talking about he broke my nose and stepping in on six days. Give him three weeks and he is going to do something.

‘Guess what? It’s not done. I will give you a whole training camp. I guarantee you won’t sign on that dotted line because this time I’m going to finish your ass.’

Masvidal has not entered the octagon since the July 2020 defeat to Usman, which was decided by unanimous points decision.
